Moses Matovu

Moses Matovu was a Ugandan Musician, composer and Afrigo Band leader. Moses co-founded Afrigo Band and led it for five decades, building one of Uganda’s most celebrated and enduring musical institutions. His extraordinary contribution earned him several honours, including Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Club Music Video Awards, HiPipo Music Awards and the inaugural Janzi Awards. Afrigo Band was also honoured by the Kabaka of Buganda for promoting culture and heritage through music. Beyond these accolades, Moses was a devoted father and grandfather, a loyal friend and a generous mentor whose wisdom and encouragement shaped many lives
